I'm taking volunteers for another admin. If you're interested, and have a little free time, send a note to the club. I do ask that you've been on DA long enough to fairly navigate it, but I'll take you're word for it that you have if you respond. ^^
Greetings fellow Lomo-ers. I know, there are lots of tutorials and whatnot in the internet and of course in the deviantart to create lomo effects on a picture. But then again most of these tutorials use photoshop as a medium and usually consists of four or five steps.

BUT an esteemed colleague from Gimp plugin registry had created an automated process which creates incredible good results with a free, as in free beer, software we all love and adore: Gimp!

The script resides at: registry.gimp.org/node/7870 and installation is fairly easy. "elsamuko-lomo.scm" file goes to the Script folder of the gimp, which conveniently resides in your My Documents folder (I hope because I am a linux user) or under your Home/.gimp folder. The second one "elsamuko-curves.zip" file has 4 curve files and as you can easily guess they'll go to the "Curves" folder in the same place.

Then you can make the magic by going to filter, Lights and Shadow -> Lomo. There are many MANY options which you can monkey around with and the results are often outstanding. But here is a caveat, if you tend to forget the filesizes like me, as in 4000x3000, the effect can take a while to finish. My advice? First scale it down to 1024x768 and then lomoify it.

Questions, advices and other sorts of penumbral thoughts? Send it to me :)

Have a nice day.

p.s.
I also added a package which contains examples to all of the effects done by this script.
